The industrial use of magnesium sulfate heptahydrate is especially wide, mainly used in microbial industry, light industry, chemical industry, printing and dyeing industry, electroplating industry, smelting industry, specifically: used in explosives, matches, porcelain, glass, pigment, ABS resin manufacturing.

(1) Chemical use: raw material for the manufacture of magnesium stearate, magnesium phosphate, magnesium silicate, magnesium oxide and other magnesium salts and other sulfates such as potassium sulfate and sodium sulfate.

(2) In the environmental protection industry, magnesium sulfate heptahydrate is used directly as a sewage treatment agent or as a kind of raw material of sewage treatment agent for industrial sewage treatment, which plays a role of coagulation and sedimentation of waste liquid sewage to meet the standard of sewage discharge.

(3) In the building materials industry, magnesium sulfate heptahydrate dissolves in water and reacts with heavy light burning powder (magnesium oxide) to form magnesium sulfate cement, which has better heat preservation, fire resistance, durability and environmental protection, and is used in the production of fireproof boards, exterior wall heat preservation boards, door core boards, magnesium sulfate boards and so on. It is used as a flame retardant for acrylic resin and other plastics in fireproof materials, so magnesium sulfate is widely used in the production of fireproof boards. Here it should be noted that the pure acid magnesium sulfate production of building materials board does not return to halogen, but the waste sulfuric acid production of building materials board will return to halogen.

(4) In the construction industry, magnesium sulfate heptahydrate is used as cement coagulant. It can also be used as snow-melting agent, magnesium sulfate can be used as pollution-free snow-melting agent. It can replace traditional snow-melting salt, overcome the damage of traditional snow-melting salt to the environment and facilities, and provide beneficial elements for soil and crops.

(5)Magnesium sulfate heptahydrate is used as polymer emulsion coagulant in the industrial production of ABS, EPS and other polymer materials.

(6)In the industrial production of man-made fibers, magnesium sulfate heptahydrate is a component of spinning bath, and is an important auxiliary material for viscose fiber and vinylon fiber.

(7)In the pulp production of paper industry, magnesium sulfate heptahydrate is used to increase the selectivity of oxygen bleaching delignification, to improve the quality of cellulose and to save the product usage.

(8)Magnesium sulfate heptahydrate is used as processing aids and fillers in the leather industry, which can make the leather softer, promote the adhesion of Yi leather agent and leather, improve the quality of leather, and at the same time, enhance the heat resistance of leather.

(9)In printing and dyeing industry, magnesium sulfate heptahydrate can be used as fabric dyeing agent, anti-alkali agent, aggravating agent, magnesium dyeing agent, used for printing and dyeing thin cotton cloth, silk production, as well as in the chemical fiber and textile industry used as a dyeing agent and reductase to ensure that the pH value of the pH value in the 6-7 between the realization of the uniform dyeing; but also as a filler of cottonwood and cotton products and used in the production of rayon.

(10) in the electroplating industry, used as a conductive salt: in the nickel plating solution by adding magnesium sulfate heptahydrate can make the plating solution has a better conductivity, so that the plating layer is white and soft; can also be used as an additive for aluminum refining, so that the surface of aluminum coloring.

(11) In the microbial industry, it is used as a component of culture medium, additive for brewing, supplementing magnesium in brewing water, and a nutrient source in fermentation.

(12) Magnesium sulfate is used to treat printing and dyeing wastewater, printing and dyeing wastewater is a kind of industrial wastewater which is very harmful to the environment. Emissions, high color, organic matter difficult to degrade using conventional treatment methods difficult to meet the standard. Wastewater treatment has brought great difficulties. (13) Aquatic industry, magnesium sulfate can be used as the main raw material for the production of sea crystals, seawater elements. Now a lot of seafood markets, aquariums, are using magnesium sulfate production of sea crystal instead of seawater. Because seafood is practical, so if the waste sulfuric acid production of magnesium sulfate used to make sea crystal, seawater, very harmful to the human body.

(14) Breeding industry, magnesium sulfate can be directly sprinkled into the seawater shrimp farming, shrimp farming can play a role in increasing the growth of positive bacteria, which can play the prevention and control of solid ciliates, but also to supplement the mineral elements.
