- Anhydrous magnesium sulfate is used in the pharmaceutical, printing and dyeing industries. Because it absorbs water faster and is a neutral compound, it does not have chemical reactions to all kinds of organic matter, so it is a commonly used desiccant, especially for those organic materials that can not be dried by anhydrous calcium chloride.
